Permits Passes & More for Residents and Visitors

Parking Permits

Our staff's main objective is to provide quality service to residents and make the process of applying for a parking decal or visitor permit as stress-free as possible. Knowing the rules and regulations for each permit type will make the permit process easier.

Permit Holder Regulations

All WNYPA permits are vehicle specific and cannot be transferred, sublet, or sold. All vehicles utilizing a hanging permit must be registered with WNYPA at time of permit purchase. Displaying a hanging tag permit on a vehicle that is not registered with WNYPA may result in a summons and a counterfeiting citation for that vehicle.

Resident Parking Permit - $10 Annually

West New York's Resident Permit Parking Program is an initiative designed to give residents a better chance of finding an on-street parking space near their home. The program started because residents were concerned about the increasing number of non-resident vehicles parked on West New York streets. Commuters and non-residents were turning our neighborhoods into parking lots, and residents could not park on their own block. Many of the parking spaces on West New York's residential streets are regulated as "Resident Parking Only," and we ask for simple verification of West New York residency to ensure our residents have the best access to spots in their neighborhoods and to combat non-residents from taking residential spots.

Resident Parking Decals are valid for one year from the day of purchase and cost $10 annually. The $10 fee is among the lowest in Hudson County.

To receive a decal, the Applicant must register IN PERSON an individual must provide a valid NJ State driver's license showing residency at a West New York address and valid documentation that the vehicle is registered to that address (with limited exceptions for fleet and leased vehicles, upon Executive Director's approval).
